Picking up hours after The Raid: Redemption, the sequel follows Rama (Iko Uwais) as he goes undercover to expose corruption within Jakarta’s criminal underworld. The narrative is more complex and sprawling, shifting from a single-building survival thriller to a city-wide crime saga.

What sets The Raid 2 apart is its breathtaking choreography and visceral action. Every fight scene—whether in muddy prisons, moving cars, or narrow kitchens—is crafted with brutal precision and filmed with kinetic energy. Iko Uwais once again delivers a physically demanding and charismatic performance, while the supporting cast adds depth and menace, especially Yayan Ruhian and the iconic Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Man.

While the film runs long at 150 minutes, the pacing rarely drags thanks to its intense set pieces and escalating stakes. The cinematography and sound design heighten the realism, making each blow feel punishingly real.
